Aftercare

The fire pits are durable and designed to permanently stay outdoors. They do however require a small amount of care to keep them looking their best.

Please follow the guidelines below:

  • Only firewood or coal type fuels designed for fire pits are to be used. We recommend dry seasoned logs for optimum heat and minimum smoke.
  • After use, place the lid back on only when the ashes are not hot to the touch. This will avoid excess heat transfer to the metal handle.
  • After each use when the fire pit has completely cooled, remove any unburnt material and ash.
  • Once clean, ensure the longevity of the steel bowl by applying a black iron paste; it is recommended to do so when there is likely to be a period of more than 30 days between fires. It will not only add a protective layer but also give the bowl a clean, uniform finish.
  • The finishing oil is a very hard-wearing layer and prevents the metal from changing colour. However, if it does become scratched or marked in any way, another coat can simply be applied. Please use Owatrol oil rust inhibitor on all outer surfaces.
