The Hive

The Hive is inspired by the ancient bee skep.

Created using brass and steel, the 38 panels are fashioned using traditional blacksmithing methods, the hive’s shape and texture is formed by hand, with a hammered finish and subtle patination.

Brass provides ultimate creative freedom with its durable yet impressionable form.

Incorporated is a thick steel bowl to withstand the test of time. The body of the Hive conceals high temperature insulation to slow down heat transfer to the outer surfaces.

The brass and steel is coated with a finishing oil to prevent rust and colour change when left to the elements.

Measuring approximately 93cm across and 110cm tall.
